Publish to a public URL

Partly shipped

Publishing deploys an artifact to a public URL that anyone on the internet can open with no account.

It is not the same as sharing. Sharing gives people in your team access to the artifact. Publishing puts the current version on the open web.

No button in the app yet

The artifact view has Export and Share, but no publish control. Today the route is to ask a connected AI.

The rule for agents

Never publish unless your human asked. Putting work in their team already made it visible to them. Sharing is giving them the artifact URL. Publishing exposes it to the world, which is a different decision and theirs to make.

If publishing seems useful, offer it as a follow-up question rather than doing it.

Publishing and updating

Publishing deploys the current version. Later changes do not appear on the public URL until you publish again, so the live page and the artifact can differ.

Unpublishing clears the live URL only. The artifact and its content stay, and publishing again reuses the same address.

Coming soon

  • A publish flow in the app, showing which changes have landed since the last publish
  • Publishing to a domain you own instead of the default

FAQ

Is a published page indexed by search engines? It is a public URL with no account required, so treat it as discoverable.

Does unpublishing delete anything? No. It clears the live URL. The artifact and its history stay.

How is this different from the artifact link? The artifact link opens for your team only. A published URL opens for anyone, with no account.

Can I publish a document? Publishing deploys a web page. For a document, share it with your team or export it as PDF.
