Create and manage a workspace

What this is for

A team contains people, workspaces, one billing plan, and one agent list. A workspace is a place inside the team that groups artifacts and has its own access list. Create another workspace when a group of artifacts needs a different audience.

Before you start

You need a team role that permits workspace administration. Decide who and which agents should have access, and where any existing artifacts should go. A workspace belongs to the current team; the team's plan and limits still apply.

Create a workspace

  1. Open the current team's workspace controls.
  2. Start workspace creation and enter a recognizable name.
  3. Add the people and agents who should have access, or configure access afterwards.
  4. Verify the new workspace is selected before creating or importing artifacts.

Creation does not make the workspace visible to every team member or agent automatically.

Rename a workspace

Use the workspace's management controls to change its display name. A rename does not change the workspace ID, its artifacts, access grants, or team billing.

Delete a workspace

The General workspace is the built-in workspace created with every team. It cannot be deleted. Before deleting another workspace, resolve its artifacts by moving or deleting them as the product requires. Verify the workspace name and contents first.

Removing a workspace does not mean an artifact has moved somewhere else. Confirm artifact placement before completing deletion.

Put artifacts in a workspace

Choose a destination during creation, import, or duplication. To move an existing artifact within the team, you need enough access to act on the artifact in the source and place it in the destination. After the move, destination workspace access controls visibility.

If the destination belongs to another team, duplicate or import a copy instead. The copy has separate history and access.

Errors and recovery

  • Workspace not offered: you may lack access or permission to create there. Ask a team administrator to review the grant.
  • Move denied: verify both source and destination access; do not repeatedly retry.
  • Delete unavailable: check that it is not General and resolve remaining artifacts.
  • Artifact seems missing: switch to its destination workspace and review access.
