Importing a document brings existing writing into AgentGrid.io as a document artifact, so it becomes editable in the rich editor, versioned, and readable by your AI.
Steps

In the app
- Select New → Import Document.
- Choose the document.
- It opens ready to edit. Remember to select Save after any change — auto-save is not live yet.

Why import rather than upload
Importing produces something you can edit in place, with each revision recorded in history. Uploading stores the original file as-is, as an asset.
If you want to keep working on the text, import it. If you want to keep the original file exactly as it is, upload it.
Limits
- The result is markdown. Complex layout from the source document does not survive.
- Images from the source document need care. Exports from Word or Google Docs often embed images as data inside the text, which makes the document enormous. Keep images as separate files in the artifact and reference them by relative path instead.
FAQ
Does the original change? No. Importing copies the content in.
Can I re-import to update it? Edit the artifact directly, or ask your AI to make the change, so it lands as a version on the same artifact. Re-importing creates a second artifact.
What if the formatting comes out wrong? Edit it in place, or ask your AI to clean it up. Both land in the same history.
